I found this post from back in 2023 but closed.
We are in the process of checking Bitwarden/vaultwarden in our company and founnd exact the same issue still exists in 2025. Are we missing something or is still a pain in the butt, when restructering Folder with nested Folders?
When one has a nested folder structure and you rename the top level Folder, all Folders below are not renamed, instead they keep the old name and are not part of the folder structure like before
@bema.de It seems, you are correct about that. - The issue from 2023 was about a problem with importing data, connected to that issue. As a “workaround” for an existing “vault structure”, it is a bit more work, but if you rename every subfolder (or rather their top-folder part in the expression - see below), it’s still solvable.
(Subfolders go by this “expression”: Top-folder/Subfolder. If you want to rename Top-folderA to Top-folderB, you would then have to rename all “attached” subfolders also like this: Top-folderA/SubfolderA → Top-folderB/SubfolderA.)
