Securlock equip app for Android

How do I code a new item in the vault for SecurLock equip app on Android 12?

I don’t know anything about that app, but if you are just needing to add a code of some sort (without a related URL) you can just save it as a Secure Note.

OK. Maybe this is peculiar to the SecurLock Equip app.

Bitwarden on Android successfully fills in login information for my bank account. Why wouldn’t it work for SecurLock Equip?

Try editing the vault item, and manually putting the following string as the value of URI1:

androidapp://com.fis.mobile.android

Thanks for the suggested URI. I checked and double checked to make sure I don’t have a typo. I typed it correctly. It does not work.

Maybe Match Detection should be adjusted. Currently it’s set at default.

Is the vault item not matching, or is it matching but the credentials are not being auto-filled?

How do I tell if it’s not matching? All I can tell you is that when I see the username & password blanks when I open SecurLock nothing is automatically filled.

I’m not sure how this works in the mobile apps, since I don’t personally use them. If you have a website or app that has more than one login account stored in your vault, how do you select which one to auto-fill? When Bitwarden gives you an option to auto-fill one or more saved accounts, this implies that it has matched those accounts to the website or app (based on the URI).

There’s only one login ID for this app.

Do you not have other vault entries for other websites or apps? Do any of them have multiple accounts (and if not, could you temporarily create a second, dummy login item for testing purposes)? I’m just trying to help you find the visual indicator that tells you which of your stored login items are “matched” to the app/webpage by Bitwarden.

Thanks for helping …

Yes. I have other vault entries that have multiple accounts. Those work OK. Those are for websites. I don’t have entries for apps that have more than one account. Do you want me to create a separate, dummy entry for Securlock Equip?

When you go to those websites, what is the process by which you select which account that you wish to use for logging in? Specifically, how do you see which accounts are available for logging in?

When I click on the password box (this is on the web using my PC) both accounts show up. I click on the login that I want.

You’d have to do this test on using the mobile app, since the PC UI is different.

Or perhaps best to wait for someone who is more familiar with the Android app — or contact support.

Hi Sam,

I rarely use the Android autofill feature anymore, but here are some comments that might be helpful:

  1. In some apps, the autofill doesn’t work, and you end up having to copy and paste. If you can use split windows, that might help.

  2. For certain apps, when the BW icon appears (either as autofill or on the keyboard), you can click on it. If it doesn’t find a matching entry but you already have one saved, you can search for that entry, click autofill and save. This should autofill and save your URL automatically, although it doesn’t always work.

  3. If you switch into BW as mentioned in point 2, clicking “Add” will capture the URL, allowing you to copy it from the entry.

@Neuron5569 Thank you for sharing your experience. I was trying to help @SamStam determine whether auto-fill is failing because the androidapp://com.fis.mobile.android URI is not matching to the SecurLock Equip app, or because custom linked fields are required to match the username & password input fields, or because the app is designed not to be compatible with auto-filling.

Can you help explain how to confirm whether OP’s vault item for SecurLock Equip is being matched or not? (similar to looking for the badge counter in the browser extension)

Thanks for the help.

This is odd. I tried the app again. This time, for the first time, the Bitwarden icon showed up. Bitwarden was then opened. After a bit it displayed the entry for the app. I clicked it and was able to login in.

Could this be a sync problem between my Android phone and Windows 10 on my PC?

I suppose it’s theoretically possible that your Android app wasn’t synced to the most recent version of your vault. There could be other explanations as well.

Regardless, it seems that with the URI set to androidapp://com.fis.mobile.android, the auto-fill function is now working for your SecurLock Equip app.

I’m glad that you were able to resolve your problem.

@grb @SamStam

I did install the app. When I clicked on the entry sometimes, it didn’t autofill, but it filled in the second time everytime for me.

Even if you vault is sync, it may still be flaky anyway. Try for a second time.

That sounds like a symptom that has been associated with auto-fill memory issues when Argon2id is used. Are you unlocking using biometrics? Do you have Argon2id as your KDF, with a high memory setting (> 48 MiB)?
