Questions about Sharing

Hello,

I plan to use Bitwarden for me and my family (wife and daughter).
So I had a very quick look at this feature and created an organization.
Here I have some questions about sharing.

  1. I want to share some passwords only with my wife (financial stuff and Amazon).
Is this working with one “Organization” (Family)?

  2. I want to share the passwords in “Read-Only” Mode (so I can change them but not the family members.
    Is that possible?

  3. When I share a password, then Bitwarden tells me that it is “moved” to the family gropup.
So it disappears from my vault.
Here I fear that it can be deleted/modified from other family members

  4. Can I set up my daughters account to “she can not create own entries in the organization”?

  5. When I share a password, then it is moved to the family.
Can Bitwarden (Android App, Browser Extension) handle two password sources (that I can log into websites no matter if the password is stored in my vault or in the family vault)?

  6. Is it necessary that my wife and my daughter also create an Bitwarden account?
    I guess YES.

Thank you for your answer.

Best regards

OLLI

I would suggest you to read the help documentation as it is the best source. Pretty much all your questions can be answered by it.

A) You can share logins, identities, credit cards and secure notes by using organizations. An organization is mandatory for sharing credentials across users.

You can do all of these by taking advantage of User Types and Access Control.

Access Control: https://bitwarden.com/help/article/user-types-access-control/#access-control

Yes, you can use passwords located in your vault or collections.

An account is required for both your wife and daughter.
