How to combine 2 vaults into "My vault" for export?

I have 2 vaults: “My vault” (59 login entries) and “dculp” (239 login entries). All of my credit card info is stored in “My vault”. Both vaults belong to me alone.

In bitwarden online the “dculp” vault has 3 vertically aligned dots at the right but the only option that they allow is “leave”. I’m guessing that the “dculp” vault is an organizational vault. However, I’m the only person in the organization.

Ultimately I want to export all of my vault info. However, bitwarden gives a message, “Only the individual vault items associated with [email protected] will be exported. Organizational vault items will not be included.” When I export to a csv file, only the “My vault” items are exported. Hence –

  1. How can I move the “dculp” vault entries to “My vault” for a single export, or
  2. How can I separately export the “dculp” vault.
  3. When I save a site password, I don’t recall that bitwarden asks or indicates which vault the password should be saved into. Is there some way to select the vault?

Thanks.

@dculp Welcome to the forum!

Is there a reason why your data are organized this way? Is there any reason why you can’t just store all items in your individual “My Vault”, and delete the organization?

Probably the best way is to create a .json export of the organization vault (“dculp”), and then import the exported file into your individual “My Vault”. After confirming that this was successful, you can bulk delete all items stored in the “dculp” vault, or simply delete the entire “dculp” organization.

The instructions for how to export an Organization Vault are available here.

There should be an option to select the owner of the item (for example, in the browser extension, there is a setting at the bottom of the item edit page, labeled “Who owns this item?”), which determines which vault the item will be stored in.
