Pass word not working

Does the Bitworden account expire if not used?

A year ago I created an account and imported my passwords into it but did not use it.

About 14 months later I am trying to log in but my Master password is not working.

I welcome your advice.

@Bhabashy Welcome to the forum! Here are some things to try:

  • At the bottom of the login screen, it should say “Server:” or “Logging in on:”. Make sure that you have selected bitwarden.com (not bitwarden.eu). Does this allow you to log in? If not, what is the exact wording of the error message?

  • If you request a password hint (by clicking the “Get master password hint” link on the password input screen), do you receive an email with the hint?

  • If you keep trying (a total of at least 9 times, including previous attempts) until Bitwarden requires you to solve a Captcha puzzle in order to complete the login attempt, do you get any email notification from Bitwarden ([email protected]) with the subject “Failed login attempts detected”? If you’re already getting the Captcha puzzles, can you find any such email notification among your recently received emails (in the period during which you have been attempting to log in to your account)?

  • If you try to register a new account on the bitwarden.com server (not bitwarden.eu) by going to the account registration form and entering the same email address that you have been using when attempting to log in to your old account, does it allow you to create a new account?
