Losing information if not filled completely...

The biggest issue I have seen in Bitwarden so far (Windows), is that when you start filling a new password and you go to do something else without saving… and then it locks… YOU LOSE YOUR NOTED PASSWORD!!!

There are 2 options to approach this:
— Keep this window opened until saved, even when it locks.
— Save a temporary entry with this information.

Lose information should never be an option.
Am I missing something?
I’ve had this many times and see it as a very anoying issue.

Thanks for your help and support

Meanwhile, the workarounds include:

  1. Pop out the extension into a separate window. The downside to this is that autolock no longer works.
  2. Get in the habit of generating the username and password only and saving them immediately. Edit other information separately, either in the pop-out window or in the desktop app if you use biometrics.

What method are you using when “filling a new password”? If you are using the extension’s Password Generator (as you should), then the unsaved password will still be accessible, via the Password Generator History.

If you yourself refrain from closing the window, then the browser extension will be prevented from locking. The Vault Timeout timer only starts if the extension window as been closed.

Also, what is your setting for the Vault Timeout period? Based on how you’ve described your work habits, it seems that you perhaps should make the Vault Timeout period longer (e.g., how much extra time do you need to “go to do something else without saving”?).
