Login in Bitwarden not possible in auto-fill only

I have a persisting problem with auto-fill via Bitwarden on iOS. When trying to auto-fill a login Bitwarden asks me to log in, upon entering my master password I get the KDF warning and when tapping Continue Bitwarden simply closes (no error is shown).

Additional info:

  • I can login directly in the Bitwarden App without any issues.
  • The error first appeared on iOS 17.6, upgrade to iOS 18.0 did not help.
  • Reinstalling the Bitwarden app did not help (neither on iOS 17 nor 18).
  • Login in the app prior to trying auto-fill does not help.
  • When I have Face ID activated in the app the auto-fill master passwort prompt shows a warning: “Autofill biometric unlock for this account is disabled pending verification of master password.”

Any help and tips are much appreciated!

Please post a screenshot the Dashboard of your Admin Portal, which displays your server version. Also, please let us know what operating system is used for your server.

Vaultwarden is not a Bitwarden product, so there are naturally going to be compatibility issues between the Vaultwarden server and the official Bitwarden client apps from time to time.
