Not sure where to get this entered as an official bug, or to share the workaround, but as some folks here may have seen, the Safari Extension at some point started having some issues syncing (it fails, but with no useful error indicating the problem).
I initially saw this self-hosted on Vaultwarden, but I’ve spent hours confirming the bug is client-side, including proving it out using the official Bitwarden server.
Someone has noted over on reddit that support may be aware that there’s an “issue” with the Safari extension and it’s been known for more than a month(!), but it’s not clear if Bitwarden support is aware of the details. I did the work to find that limit and confirm it’s the number of items in the vault, not the size of the vault (meaning the total bytes in the vault). The limit is 2,849 if all of those are simple logins, the limit is the same if you put a paragraph in every “notes” entry of those logins.
This feels like a pretty easy one to fix, and some folks have done the legwork to pin down the number. What can I do to push this bug forward so I can use my primary browser with Bitwarden again?
