My suggestion would be to use 2Fa codes directly (via the keyboard) instead of copying them to the clipboard. Personally I think it’s cooler and in theory it saves time (even if it won’t make a huge difference ^^)
I’m making the suggestion because I saw on X (formerly Twitter) today that Proton Pass has implemented this, attached is the video: https://x.com/Proton_Pass/status/1847348680283541537
The Apple password manager also does this. In the password settings of the iPhone it does not (officially) say that Bitwarden supports 2Fa codes (they are only copied to the clipboard).
Since July (2023.7.0 release), Bitwarden does allow TOTP codes to be auto-filled in the browser extensions.
However, please note that in the current implementation, Bitwarden only has 18 keywords used to identify TOTP input fields, and unfortunately, there is not yet an option to use custom fields that are linked to the TOTP autofill function.
There is a feature request for implementation of linked custom fields for TOTP autofilling:
In addition, if you encounter a login form where autofilling of TOTP codes does not work, you can submit an Autofill Failure Report, using the following form:
I suppose that your feature request is strictly about mobile apps, so I have changed your topic title to reflect this (was: “2FA Code autofill instead of copying it to clipborad”)
