When I search for a word in the web vault, it finds 32 links - logins.
When I search for the same word in the chrome extension (2025.1.2), it only finds 25.
It works fine in the web vault, but it doesn’t work in the extension.
Do you have a similar experience with this?
It would be helpful if you could provide a specific example for testing. Or at least show some screenshots (with sensitive information redacted).
To my knowledge, the web vault does not display the number of search results, so is it possible that you have miscounted?
The browser extension does display the number of search results, but the search results are divided into three sections (“Suggested Items”, “Favorites”, and “All Items”), so you must add up all three numbers to find the total number of search results.
yes, the web vault doesn’t show the result but I calculated correctly. The result was different in the extension, as I wrote.
I wanted to make screenshots of both vaults now so you can see it, but suddenly the chrome extension also works. Before that, I tried it every day for a whole month and it never found a specific word in the extension.
So it’s fine now.

When you say that the word was “never found”, it sounds like the number of search results would have been zero (not some nonzero number that differs from the number of search results in the Web Vault, which is the behavior that you had described above). That seems like a different type of problem, which can usually be addressed by learning more about how Bitwarden’s search function works.
