Hi! I have a premium individual account with a free organization. My friend, who has a free individual account, is in the organization too.
I had set up TOTPs for our shared accounts a few years ago and had no problem accessing them (while my friend obviously could not, which is expected).
But now, I cannot access those TOTPs because it says they’re “Premium,” even though I have a premium individual account. Has something changed so that I now need to upgrade the organization to use these premium features on my end?
If so, I strongly dislike this change. It makes more sense to allow my premium account access to those features for shared accounts while my friend’s free account does not.
This question seems to be about the Password Manager, so I am moving it into the appropriate section of the forum (@srnyx, I have applied the app:mobile and os:android tags, please advise if these are inaccurate).
@dwbit To clarify, the ability (for Premium users of the Password Manager) to view TOTP codes for items stored in a free organization is a feature that’s only been available for less than 9 months, right (since summer 2024)?
If so, @srnyx would not have been able to use TOTP codes for shared items “a few years ago”, as they stated.
Thank you. I didn’t know whether to create it in Password Manager or Authenticator.
It occurs in my Chrome browser extension, vault.bitwarden.com (in Chrome), and Bitwarden desktop application (on Windows). However, it does not happen in my Apple app, and I’m not using Android. So I think the correct tags would be app:browser, app:desktop, apps:web-vault, chrome, and os:windows.
If I click the three dots or copy button, I can still copy the verification code. However, when I open the item to view it, I cannot see or copy the code, which has a green Premium badge.
One of my logins with TOTP in the organization was last edited on May 1, 2022. It may have been that I created the login in my individual account first and then moved it to the organization (organization was made at least on April 25, 2022 [just based on chats with my friend, it could’ve been earlier]), if that makes any difference.
