✅ Mobile App + Browser extension redesign

Hi @busradegirmenci,

You did a really great job! Do you have an idea to redesign the desktop app as well?

Thank you so much.

(srry for the quality, its just a preview of the UI/UX of the app)

Really love this UI, Hope BitWarden also develops something like this for its Mobile devices and Change the Desktop Apps too.

@aka.0x4C3DD :+1: nice looking UI. Virtual card view is cool too.

great, great design

@busradegirmenci, I dislike your unnecessary utilization of space to pad each element, and the rounding of corners: it appears to serve no function. However, I like how the iconography and appearance of every button appears to be consistent.

Lastly, I worry that the dark version appears to suggest that organic light-emissive diodes were not considered. Do you expect that your redesign would continue to support alternative colouration, especially to adhere to the previously stated hardware benefits and version 3 of Material Design of Android?

This is really nice work, @busradegirmenci! And you obviously put some time into it, which is very generous of you.

If I may offer you some ideas/requests to consider (I’m a UX designer, so I tend to stop at the wireframe stage before UI design experts such as yourself take over!):

  1. having an ‘always on’ filter area for the vault would save a click as well as reduce cognitive load. It is described as idea 1 in this post, and could be a helpful evolution for your concept. This is a useful feature for people with larger vaults because typing a couple of letters is faster than trying to scroll and stop, plus it means one doesn’t have to remember the first letter of a vault item in order to find it in the alphabetical list.

  2. reducing the padding between data rows (either by removing whitespace or increasing font size; the latter approach may help to retain a large click-area per item) could also help interaction with large vaults. You could consider having 2 different padding options: one value for ‘vault data row’ and a larger value for ‘menu options’ (such as the vault item category list, or the other configuration menu areas) as this could help consistency as well as handling the needs of these different interaction element types.

This is possibly the best app UI I’ve ever seen! Don’t make me learn C# to fork this thing

From https://www.behance.net/gallery/104956981/Bitwarden-Redesign:

I couldn’t add the current interface becuase of the security reason I can’t take a screenshot.

@busradegirmenci during my work on app critique “UX of Banking – Making a Payment with mBank” I stumbled upon the same problem with mBank app. It’s possible to get around that with scrcpy.

Nice redesign. BW’s current design is old I will chose new features instead of redesigned app interface.

I think there should be an option to use the new and previous UI. That way, current users can stick to their traditional old UI and try out the new UI if they want, as well as allowing users who are advocates of the modern UI. You cannot satisfy everyone; however, to keep it balanced, it’s best to have multiple themes that allow you to change the app’s appearance.

I’m all up for the UI redesign.

Closing this one out as we’ve since released native mobile apps and an updated browser extension design.
