Folders: Allow item to appear in multiple folders

There are many items which it would be useful to list in different contexts: Eg:

  • A bank might appear under “Financial” and under “Essential_Business_Relations”.
  • The roadside service AAA might appear under “Travel”, "Vehicle, “Insurance”, or “Essential_Business_Relations”

This is not huge, but it might greatly increase the value of the Folders. There are times when I don’t recall the exact spelling which will find an entry, but I do have some idea of the type of thing I’m looking for. However, many entries are very fuzzy and can be categorized different ways.

Right off I don’t see a downside or conflict to this feature, except, of course the resources to implement it.

Agreed! For example I have lots of Items for my kids. I would like to have some of these Items under folders for just their particular name “Sue” and another folder named “School”. Another example is a folder named “Email” but some items could also be under “OSINT” or “Sue”.

This is essentially the idea behind adding tags to vault items, which is a long-requested feature. You might consider supporting it by adding your vote here:

I don’t want a confusing TAGS system where I have to remember which tag to use every time I want to use it. I don’t want to keep tagging all the passwords. I just want to be able to select multiple folders for that password. Much easier and less likely to make a mistake or put different or incorrect tags. Placing TAGS is not practical
. While putting a password on several folders is much more practical and functional. Folders and TAGS are very different resources. I don’t agree with putting TAGS instead of implementing multiple folders, as I’ve seen in several community posts.

There is no difference between a tags system and a multiple folders system. It’s exactly the same thing, just with a different name.

Hello! Is there something similar to this feature that has been implemented already? I don’t see it, yet.

Currently items such as logins can only be placed in one folder. For some logins such as Coscto where the user uses their pharmacy as well as shopping would need this login in two or more folders, for example, Health folder (Costco’s pharmacy) and Shopping folder (Costco’s products).

@EcoNeato Welcome to the forum!

I’ve moved your request into an existing Feature Request to the same topic.
