Browser Extension Settings to Achieve Lock Behavior

I would like Bitwarden to lock or logout as follows. I can’t seem to find the right combination of extension settings. I’m using Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon with the latest update of the Brave browser.

  1. Lock with PIN when the screen saver kicks in. (I’m normally in the house)
  2. I don’t want it to lock at all when the browser is closed.
  3. Logout and require 2FA after a manual lock (linux), logout or shutdown the PC. (I may be out of the house)

Unfortunately, the BW client currently does not offer the options you desire.

Currently the vault can be set to timeout (lock or logout, your choice) after a set period of time OR when the browser restarts. Or you can set it to never timeout (not recommended).

If you always want BW to prompt for 2FA again after you logout, you have to make sure you do not enable the option to “Remember Me” when you sign in using 2FA.
