I’m writing to suggest a feature that I think would be very helpful. I’d like to see a warning when you’re about to delete an item that has a passkey.
I haven’t lost any keys yet, but I’m worried that it could happen someday.
Another suggestion is to add a feature to lock items. This would prevent accidental deletion of items with keys.
That’s a good idea. Truthfully, deleting a Passkey on the user end isn’t a big deal if the website implements them properly (i.e. websites that handle Passkeys correctly allow the user to delete, rename, and add new Passkeys).
However, most websites in my experience do not implement Passkeys correctly so your idea has real merit (in other words, with this change added Bitwarden would be helping to guard against crappy Passkey implementations to avoid lockouts).
When you delete an item, it goes to the trash (settings >> vault >> trash) for thirty days. From there, it can be restored.
