"Unlock with Passkey" does not unlock unless popped out

OS: Linux 6.12.68-1-MANJARO

Browser: Brave latest. (I installed and tried it with stable Chrome and it has the same exact issue)

My passkey: A Yubikey BIO FIDO edition if that’s relevant.

Version: 2026.1.0

SDK: ‘main (8e5efd8)’

Server version: 2026.1.1

Here’s a GIF of the issue. I can only use Unlock with Passkey if I pop out the extension.

Also, if I open the dev console to inspect the console, that keeps the extension alive and I’m able to unlock properly. So trying to observe the issue fixes the issue… making the cause hard to pin down.

the same thing happens to me with Chrome on GNU/Linux:

Google Chrome Version 145.0.7632.116
Browser extension Version: 2026.1.1
EU cloud server
Also with a yubikey bio

I suspect it could be related to this bug that prevented login to the browser extension on certain OS unless it was previously popped out.

Just reported this.

I hope I’m more lucky with this one than with my previous bug reports…

EDIT: Not very optimistic right now. When there is a comment from Bitwarden with “unable to reproduce”, it usually means the bug report has a high probability of ending up completely ignored. :person_shrugging:
