The topic of this thread is Bitwarden’s switch from the “Auto-Fill V1” implementation to the “Auto-Fill V2” implementation back in November 2023, which caused some unintended consequences at the time.

It is unlikely that your issues (or the issue posted by @modem2k last week) are directly related to this event from 4 months ago. Miscellaneous auto-fill issues occur from time to time in Bitwarden’s browser extension, because web developers do not adhere to any specific standards when coding login forms for various online services — this makes it extremely challenging to automate the detection of username and password fields on a web page, and the challenges are exacerbated by web designers who deliberately build in features to block or impede auto-filling of login forms.

If you simply want to alert Bitwarden to the fact that an issue exists on a specific web page, then you should use the Auto-Fill Failure Report Form.

If you would like assistance with an issue that you’ve encountered, it is best to start a new topic in the Ask the Community forum. Alternatively, use the forum search function to find a thread that is recent (less than 1 month old) and that explicitly mentions the same website that you are having problems with.
