It would be great to have quick access to login items that contain passkeys in the vault.
This would aid the user’s ability to manage their passkeys, especially in this early period where we’re switching our accounts over from passwords as more and more websites roll out support. I personally have a couple hundred items in my vault, and currently when you’re looking at the item list there is no way to tell which ones contain passkeys already.
I propose that a “Passkey” group / item could be added to the root of the vault list next to the type group and the TOTP category, and it could work similarly to how TOTP works currently. This wouldn’t be a new item type - since passkeys are saved into login items - just a way to surface and have quick access to items that have passkeys in them.
This passkey list item / header would then open a filtered list of passkey enabled login items - exactly how TOTP also simply surfaces login items that have TOTP codes in them in a filtered list. The items could be arranged in one continuous list, or perhaps by their folders in groups with section headers.
The core of this idea is to be able to easily surface and access login items that have passkeys in them. Currently you can’t do this at all, except by opening up items one by one and checking if they have a passkey in their details. I’ve seen another suggestion in a similar vein, about enabling search to filter for passkeys - but I believe adding a dedicated passkey “shortcut” to the main vault list would be a much lower friction way to give the user access to passkey items from the vault.
This is a request to create a new view/filter in all variations of the app (web, mobile, and desktop) that lists vault entries that have a passkey associated with them. Currently there is no way to view a count or list of all of one’s vault entries that have passkeys associated with them. In some scenarios it may be difficult to find a particular entry, especially for corporate intranet sites or other scenarios where the URL associated with the passkey isn’t recorded in the vault record. Or where it is difficult to locate the particular vault record with the passkey due to many vault records containing the same corporate user ID.
Currently in the app there is a view of all of one’s TOTP tokens. This gives a quick, consolidated view of what vault entries have a TOTP token associated with them. I’m just asking for a view that is similar for passkeys.
Not really an option like the TOTP filter, because they are going to become mainstream, but something in the search field would be nice
Currently, my workaround since the beginning of passkeys support is to put [passkey] after the name of the vault entry
So when I type “[passkey]” in the search field, I get all of them
@kzsoca@DamonF Welcome to the forum! I have merged your requests, since they ask for the same thing. Also, since both posts ask for a view similar to the TOTP view (but for passkeys), I have tagged this topic app:mobile (as the TOTP view is not available in other apps).
@Handwrite8268 If you prefer a search filter, then you can vote for the following feature request instead:
I just want to support the addition of Passkey filtering. As a new user to BitWarden i am incorporating Passkeys but its very difficult to see which items has passkeys assigned.
Given the increasing popularity of Passkeys, some solution to this problem is needed.
