Request for a Premium OTP-Only Plan

Regarding the premium features, is it possible to offer a plan that only unlocks the OTP generation feature?

Since I don’t use physical 2FA devices like YubiKeys or file attachments, I would like to request a premium plan with only the OTP feature.

@Cleat2568 Welcome to the forum!

Is there a reason why you can’t use the existing Premium plan, and simply refrain from using the Premium features that you are not interested in?

Hello grb-san.

My opinion is based on experience: the fewer features you subscribe to, the lower the price.

Emergency access

I thought the price would be lower if I didn’t subscribe to features I won’t use, like security reports.

I’m not familiar with these types of suggestions, so please let me know if I’m wrong.

$10/yr already seems pretty rock bottom to me.

There are already two feature requests to provide integrated TOTP authenticator functionality in the Free ($0) plan:

And as @DenBesten mentioned, the regular Premium plan is only $10/year.

So, would you like to propose a new plan that is more than $0 but less than $10 per year (and includes TOTP but no other Premium features) — if so, what would you propose as a price?

Alternatively, if you wish, I can move your post into the existing feature request for free TOTP.

I don’t want to use the free plan.
Premium is an important source of revenue for bitwarden.
However, I may be being selfish and not wanting to pay for features I won’t use.
If you propose an OTP-only plan, I don’t know how much of the $10 cost this OTP feature accounts for, but assuming it’s the main feature, if you exclude other features,
would it be around $6-$7, excluding file attachments, emergency access, priority support, security reports, physical 2FA, and file sharing?
If this proposal would interfere with the operation of the service, I’m prepared to close this thread and pay the $10 immediately, but I’d like to know if this proposal is realistic.

I wouldn’t count on it happening in the near future.

As already being said, $10/year is so low priced that I doubt the complexity of setting up a new plan would be of interest to Bitwarden.

But this is just a personal opinion based on absolutely no knowledge of Bitwarden business plans.

And, I would bet that the main source of revenue for Bitwarden are not the personal plans, but the business ones.

I’d be grateful if that happens someday.

Paid $10 for now.

Thank you!
