Please add this, a Bitwarden Request feature. It’s just the opposite of send, it will create a link that anyone can use to securely submit text or files. Something like mailprotector “bracket share” does now.
Currently Send allows a bitwarden user to share text or files with anyone via a link. I think also being able to create a request link where a bitwarden user can receive text or files from anyone who doesn’t have a way to securely send information would be a useful feature.
A personal example of a use for me would be requesting sensitive information from my family (addresses, SSNs, etc) who do not use any sort of security oriented messaging systems.
@DDerthick Welcome to the forum!
I have moved your post into an existing feature request thread. To support this feature request, scroll to the top of the thread and click the Vote button.
I have merged several overlapping feature requests into a single thread, and renamed the request topic to cover all variations.
Would like the ability to send a file request to someone and have them upload a secure file to send back to me. Bitwarden Send works great but if a person doesn’t have a secure file share service and I want something from them that has PII or other sensitive materiel, I’d like to be able to send them a request and have them upload the document and send it back.
@kchock Hi!
I guess this existing feature request is similar to what you request: Receive files, passwords, or notes from non-Bitwarden users (Reverse Send)
?!
Yes. I didn’t see that request. And now that I see it’s over 3 years old and it’s not on the roadmap so I probably need another solution.
In a corporate organisation interacting with many organisations, there is no good solid solution. There are some solutions, but Bitwarden I trust. So it would be great and extremely useful if you would implement a “request”.
Actually it could be done by adding an extra setting in “send” then write-enable an extra text field in the send form.
Really would like to use Bitwarden for this as this is where i put my “trust”.
The Send feature is great, but Is there a way to do a secure “Request” so that the recipient can get a unique link to upload files or text back to us ?
@PerpetroTechAdmin Welcome to the forum!
No, there is no such function available currently. The purpose of this feature request topic is to allow the user community to express support for development of such a feature. Established forum members can support the request by clicking the Vote button at the top of the thread.
Hi, I cannot vote yet but it is a must-have feature.
Is that something that already exists ?
Looking to receive secret via a secured link
@Shai_Bar Welcome to the forum!
This thread is located in the Feature Requests section of the forum, which is for proposing improvements to the Bitwarden software. Thus, the feature that is described in the title of the thread is one that does not yet exist.
Hi community!
I like the Send feature in Bitwarden, as a way to securely send self destructive credentials & messages to anyone, if they don’t already have Bitwarden account.
I would like a feature to do the opposite of that, to request a password from anyone. Send them a link, just like with Send, and they be prompted to enter whatever in a text box, and submit. Then it be stored in the same or similar place as items in Send. Would be a great premium feature for Bitwarden to have in its belt!
I often have friends and family want to share creds with me, be it a Netflix password, an account I need to fix 'cause I’m the family IT guy, etc. I hate it when they decide to send me their password in plain-text SMS messages. Not a good.
I believe Bitwarden would be a great solution to this problem.
Thanks!
@cabeoc Welcome to the forum!
I moved your post into an existing feature request thread on the same topic.
I just started using the Send feature and I am loving it. This would really be a great addition. I hate sharing sensitive information over email and this would also allow me to receive it in a safe way.
+1 this would be an excellent solution for our organization. Specifically, the ability to be able to securely request text from clients and vendors. Please add it to the road map!! We’ll use it!
