I don’t understand why a UI redesign was authorized by Bitwarden higher ups. One of the things that brought me to Bitwarden over other password managers was it’s UI. Why change a good thing?
Stuff I loved is now changed, making it a PITA to get what I need from the app. Some examples:
Sometimes I need just a username or password.
OLD UI: 1) open extension, click respective icon
NEW UI: 1) open extension, click copy icon, click username or password. Not only are there extra clicks involved, it involves a lot more mouse movements.
Does login have a verification code attached to it? (can no longer tell):
OLD UI icon indicated whether the login has a verification code function.
NEW UI does not indicate existence of verification code function.
Tab view gave me just what I need with uncluttered view:
OLD UI had Tab view, giving me just what I need for the site I’m on
NEW UI shows me all logins (which I don’t need) and forces me to click through many dropdowns to get what I need. What a disaster this is.
I could go on with more specifics with write-ups but I don’t want to waste my whole day.
There was nothing wrong with the old UI! It was awesome.
This new UI sucks. I normally don’t put code work down like this but I don’t see why this change was allowed.
I am very disappointed in the decision making that led to this change. It was not needed. Waste of time, money, and only ended up making the app worse. Can’t put to words my disappointment over this. Been using Bitwarden since version 1ish.
I’m also not a fan of the ostentatious glitzy look that Bitwarden has now adopted. I thought the old UI was fine from a functional perspective and the changes I’m seeing so far were not needed.
Please bring back the old-school Bitwarden UI!!!
