I guess I’m not the only one using clipboard managers (clipboard history with search and more).
They’re awesome but all your passwords are kept the in clipboard managers history file. You can’t easily link a password with a site but a malicious user could with a bit of effort.
Many clipboard managers are able to ignore storing clipboard content from a pattern.
So having the option to add a prefix (or suffix) to the password generator would be great for Bitwarden.
To prevent my clipboard manager from saving sensitive information like passwords, I want to exclude any string that starts with a custom prefix (e.g., #!$, pwd, p@$, bwp). I will propose this prefix/suffix feature to major password manager developers as well as clipboard managers to add the exclusion feature that is not just software specific but that detects and filter out strings, allowing users to easily prevent their passwords from being captured by clipboard managers.
… and you do know, that the generator can be used, without necessarily using the clipboard copy functions?! (e.g. by generating a password in the password field of a login item - that way it get’s stored there directly afterwards - and in most BW apps by using “drag & fill” to drag & drop passwords)
