I have Bitwarden installed on a Windows 11 desktop. I forgot my password, and an old email is associated with the account. So I can’t reset my password because it’s sending the reset link to an email that I can no longer access. I cant even delete the account without logging in to Bitwarden. What do I do?
@user319 Welcome to the forum!
Bitwarden never sends any password reset links, so please clearly explain where you are requesting these “resets” (preferably with a screenshot). Are you actually using Bitwarden?
If you no longer have access to either your master password or your email account, then you cannot delete your old account. If your master password was strong (randomly generated, with at least 50 bits of entropy), then leaving your account in the cloud unused should not be a problem.
I can’t guarantee that they will be able to do anything, but it may be worthwhile to contact support and ask if they are able to delete your cloud account for you after verifying your identity. Don’t bother asking them to reset your password, because that is not technically possible for them to do (for the same reason that password reset links are not a thing).
