Launching exe instead of a web page

I have a couple of remote sites I access using VMware client on my PC. How can I enter a shortcut to the apps exe to launch it rather than a website. I have tried:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Horizon View Client\vmware-view.exe

but its not recognized

I’ve tried putting http in form but that craps out.

Can I launch an exe?
