What method are you currently using? I agree that keyboard shortcuts would be preferrable, but it should only take 2 mouse clicks with the available methods.
This is a daily issue for me. I have developed arthritis due to heavy keyboard usage. As such, every click and keypress literally has a cost to my health. Having a shortcut for these features would reduce the wear and tear on my fingers. Even better still, I would be able to use my voice to “press” those keys.
I use the form fill function for my identities many times daily, so adding the shortcut keys would be of huge benefit to myself and people in similar situations.

This was implemented in version 2024.8.0. The shortcuts for autofilling cards are identities are not defined by default, and must be manually set up by the user (so that they can choose key combinations not already in use for other purposes.
Personally, I like to use the following keyboard shortcut definitions:

Identities: Ctrl+Shift+3 = Ctrl+#

Cards: Ctrl+Shift+4 = Ctrl+$
