In-line drop down menu doesn't show when clicking the username/email field but only for the password

I’m using Bitwarden simultaneously with Proton Pass (since Proton Pass lacks the ability to offer me the login suggestions on some websites) and noticed about a week ago that the Bitwarden extension icon (and the login credentials) doesn’t show when clicking the username/email field but only when clicking the password field.

In my case I only have one website where this still happens and that is the Steam website.

However, other people also encountered this bug as this Reddit user reported:

Autofill often triggers for the password field but not for the username / email field?

Windows 10, Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6456)

Firefox, Version 144.0

Bitwarden Extension, Version 2025.9.0

Steps I’ve tried so far:

  • Disabled and renabled the Extension.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the Extension.
  • Cleared my Browser data (Cache and Cookies)
  • Closed my Browser and restarted it.

Apparently, OP in that Reddit post was talking about Android.

But you do mean “desktop” (Windows), right?
