I can not login to vault.bitwarden.com on IOS

More people are encountering this thing, apparently. What we all have in common is that we use Apple’s ecosystem. iOS and even MacOS

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwarden/s/TAxYYbYAtr

I just had a look into Reddit. There’s a “hard refresh” mentioned - did you also try that?

And BTW, can you reproduce it? Well, maybe only time will tell, when it’s fixed for now. (Sorry, brain went into rest mode it seems)

Maybe you should post a linke to the GitHub issue or this thread here on the subreddit.

It’s not fixed. If I close the community tab or clear my browser’s cache, I won’t be able to log in. Even if I can log in with normal tabs as I am now, I have a community website tab beside the vault one. I won’t be able to log in with private or incognito tabs. I have examined this now.

Tabs are now like brothers if you kill one other will die

Sorry, right, not fixed. I edited my post. - And so the “hard refresh” didn’t work for you?

PS: I think I already assumed for the moment I wrote it, that “hard refresh” would have fixed it for you too.

I don’t have a MAC, so I can’t check that, but one other person did, and he wasn’t successful.

By the way, I tried to delete the cache and reset my network. I even checked this thing with 4 or 5 browsers; for some of them, I even deleted them and reinstalled them. Nothing worked other than what I said above. You need to have Bitwarden’s community tab beside vault.bitwarden.com. The odd thing is that Dot EU One is apparently healthy.

.eu doesn’t have an issue (different DNS names). FF doesn’t have an issue (maybe using its own DOH servers). I would try changing your DNS providers. Try nextdns.io, as I am not having problems with them:

It isn’t a DNS issue. I checked it with many internets with different ISPs and VPNs. After all, how does this DNS issue explain that you can’t log in unless you open community.bitwarden.com in a new tab beside vault.bitwarden.com? If it was a DNS issue, Cloudflare WARP would have fixed it in the first place, and I wasn’t here :frowning:

By the way, only Apple’s ecosystem is affected by this bug, and I don’t know why.

… I just saw, that the GitHub issue was closed… and if only “Apple” is affected, it sure seems more of an issue with their software… (but on the other hand: didn’t you write in your initial post, you tried it with other browsers?!?)

other browsers in iphone. also other people tried other browsers in macOS.

I can confirm. The issue is with apple products. Safari or other browsers (by chance it worked with firefox on my devices) only allow to access vault.bitwarden.com with a second tab hosting the bitwarden community site. With a windows computer there is no issue.

I don’t know why they didn’t believe us, and they closed the issue in GitHub. Time will tell we were right all along.

For reference, below is the github “closing comment”. To me, it doesn’t sound like they are disbelieving, but rather want you to work with a different team, most likely to figure out if it a Safari/webkit or a Bitwarden bug.

Also, the developers will typically not accept a bug report they can not reproduce, so maybe support will be able to help make it reproducible.

I recorded a screen record to show you guys what’s happening.
please watch it

(this is a clean & newly installed Microsoft Edge.)

@Nail1684 how do you expect me to report this?

Hey @Palermo can you confirm if you’ve already reached out to the support team via the Bitwarden website?

I’m also experiencing this issue, the community tab workaround didn’t work for me.

Yes, this #579576 is the conversation code.

Did you try to open community.bitwarden.com in another tab?

This probably will fix the issue if you keep it open.

I’m also experiencing this issue with Vivaldi browser, the community tab workaround didn’t work for me.

I can log in when I use Edge.

By any chance, do you use Apple products? And did you try to use a VPN or clear your browser’s history?
