I need to delete vaultwarden account for a user who leaved the company one year ago. In the admin/users/overview, this account has 22 entries declared. These 22 entries are passwords created by this user, that’s it ? Will deleting the account also delete these entries ? If this is the case, how can I identify these entries and move or copy them to another account ?
It seems, you are using an unofficial server software, which is not supported by Bitwarden, as it is an independent product. From time to time, there will be compatibility issues between the official Bitwarden client apps (browser extension, mobile app, desktop app…) and an unofficial server product, when Bitwarden implements changes to its own server software and/or client apps. “…Bitwarden cannot guarantee that official clients will work perfectly with non-official servers.”
(Also due to this - and for other reasons - we recommend using the official Bitwarden server software.)
It is generally not possible for members of the Bitwarden community (users or developers) to help with such issues - and with issues of the unofficial server itself. Please seek support in their community spaces.
If you can replicate your issue on an official Bitwarden server, feel free to open a new thread here.
Let me try to respond, based on what I would expect to happen in an official Bitwarden Server:
Most certainly, if the entries are stored in the user’s individual vault. If they are stored in the Organization vault (shared items), then I don’t think that they would be deleted.
Unless you have enabled account recovery and the user has disabled all 2FA on their account, you will not be able to access any items stored in the user’s individual vault. If the items are stored in the Organization vault, then you may be able to use event logs to identify items created by that user (provided that such logs are also available in Vaultwarden).
You may have better luck getting answers to your questions if you reach out to the Vaultwarden community.
