Favorites now in 2 clicks from the main screen (in new design)

Hi Support (UX) team,

After the update (Version 2026.2.1, Renderer 142.0.7444.226) the favorites folder is now hiddn inside “All items“ and thus require 2 clicks from the main screen (instead of one). Which is very very strange having that it is Favorites! Pls, get it back to the main screen (and also would be nice to have a keyboard shortcut for it).

KR, Alex

Just FYI, this is the Bitwarden Community Forum. It may or may not happen that someone from Bitwarden will read your post.

You can contact BW support e.g. via this link: Bitwarden

PS:

There is the following feature request about additional keyboard shortcuts for the desktop app:

You may want to start your own feature request for this proposal:

Thanks for the hints. I reposted this as a feature request (and extended a bit too). But this is strange there is no clear way to feedback on such issues. “contact BW support“ is more about billing and technical issues. Obviously UX is lower pririty, yet these are regressions which matter in everyday use and contribute to the satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) from the product. At least it is useful feedback for their UX team! Why no clear way to communicate? Very strange. Anyway thanks! Hope the feature reques will not be lost forever.

Do you occasionally know if there is a way to contribute to such topics? If I understand well, client ui is opensourced? What is the process and practical timeline of processing PRs? Do you know occasionally?

Hello,

From Github:

How to Contribute

Our Contributing Guidelines are located in our Contributing Documentation. The documentation also includes recommended tooling, code style tips, and lots of other great information to get you started.

I don’t know the shortest/practical timeline for outside contributions being included in official Bitwarden builds; some submitted PRs are never merged. Note that Bitwarden reviews and merges on its own schedule, and in some cases active outside contributors have later been hired by the company.

Just a note, since my feature request was closed … UX regressions in Version 2026.2.1: Favorites, Folders, Folder alignment … looks like detailed and constructive feedback is not of interest, while burocracy is in priority. Sadly.

Perhaps you missed the note (copied, below) that was attached to the FR. Feedback is welcome, but when reported in the context of a feature request, it also needs to be follow a few rules to facilitate voting.

Sorry, if I didn’t explain it well enough this time, but it is not related to “bureaucracy”. It is a requirement that feature requests should be about one specific thing only, otherwise it’s impossible to count votes for one thing.

And a simple example I like to use to explain that: if a request would be about a feature A and a feature B, how should someone vote who would be in favour of feature A, but doesn’t want feature B under any circumstances? – But, in general, there are also other considerations like not mixing up several topics in one “discussion”/request, avoiding duplicates of feature requests, …).
