When exporting vault data in either .json or .csv format, the attachments field is not listed. Is this as designed?
Yes, vault exports do not include file attachments. They also do not include the Trash folder, or any Sends that were created from your account. If you export in .csv format, you lose a lot of additional information (including all Card and Identity items, passkeys, password histories, URI match detection settings, etc.).

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if all the “missing” information is included when exporting in encrypted_json format?
When exporting an individual vault using the .JSON file format (whether encrypted or not), the main data excluded are:
- File attachments;
- Sends (both text Sends and file Sends);
- Trash folder.
In addition, while metadata like the date of item creation/modification are included in the export, these timestamps are not imported when using Bitwarden’s import tool.
