Automatically submit login form on auto-fill

This would be really nice, it’s one thing I miss from LastPass.

The auto-submit should only happen if I actively fill a form, by selecting candidate credentials from a list.

LastPass also had an optional auto-fill-and-submit feature, but that’s less useful.

This looks like a duplicate request of this thread Automatically submit login form on auto-fill

Any chance you 8 voters could move your votes to other ‘same’ feature request thread?

what would need to happen for Bitwarden to actually consider implementing this feature ? I mean this was requested more than 5 years ago. And it’s frankly not so much effort to implement it.

PLEASE!! IMPLEMENT THIS FEATURE!!

I understand the security concerns, but for heavens sake just make it an “opt in only” feature - just give us the damn option as users!!! It’s not that hard to implement! Frustrated seeing 5 years of begging for a feature that’s totally reasonable and 100% safe if done via “opt in”.

Any timeline to add this feature?

Over 6 years, guys, why is this so hard to implement?

Agreed, it would be nice to have this feature. Enpass is another password manager that has it.

“Hard” is not the likely reason. See @gtran’s earlier comment. Gtran is a Bitwarden employee, so her observations should carry a bit more weight. Perhaps unimportant, bit I happen to concur with her team’s hesitation.

That’s fine, but it should be the user’s decision. Personally, I’m not bothered by this particular concern, there are other higher-level things to worry about.

Plus one to this feature, and you will get more business as a direct result of implementing this feature.

This is one of the main reasons I still recommend using and pay myself for 1password instead of bitwarden. The fact that 1password can auto submit, fill in follow up pages, passcodes, etc makes it so much easier to use. This lack of feature literally makes bitwarden feel like an old antiquated tool compared to other offerings because of how slow it is to use.

Make this feature and make it opt - in if security is the main concern for not doing it. We are adults, we can make our own security posturing decisions.

The hesitation is reasonable. However, it is one of those features that is available on so many other password managers. Even Apple keychain has this feature.

I do think this needs to be implemented in the software. This feature should be disabled by default. Users should be able to select which “Login” detail should be used incase there are more than one account. And should be configured one by one, example per website basis.

Its good that Bitwarden is making “this” decision for its users, but I think there are many users who would want to have this feature. Keeping the feature hidden under advanced settings isn’t rocket science afterall.

+1 for me. I signed up just to add this. But can’t vote coz I’m a new user :frowning:

+1 for me.

I understand the complications of having this when theres multiple logins per site, but an option to have it auto submit once you’ve clicked on a login item on the pop up would be really nice to have.
