AutoFill on Android 16 inconsistent

I’ve found AutoFill to work quite inconsistently on my Pixel 9 Pro XL.

It’s not limited to websites and apps only. In my one week of use, I’ve encountered a handful of cases (apps and websites) where AutoFill is not suggested, and holding and clicking the AutoFill button in the input box does nothing, or the AutoFill button is not present in the text input at all.

On iOS over 2+ years I haven’t had a single instance where Bitwarden failed to auto fill passwords on any website or app.

I’ve turned on the autofill service in android and my browser. I haven’t turned on the accessibility service. Is this a requirement or something?

There is also an upstream bug in Chromium browsers affecting autofill which will be available in a future Chrome/Brave release.

No, accessibility isn’t a requirement, but some users turn it on so that when autofill doesn’t work, they can try opening the quick panel and hitting the Bitwarden autofill button; that sometimes works. Autofills on Android have always been hit-and-miss, reportedly partly due to Google, also affecting other third-party password managers as well.
