Autofill doesn't work -- Vivaldi browser (Android)

HELP. Autofill not working with Vivaldi browser on android.

Previously it was always working with Vivaldi. But now with the latest bitwarden, not working anymore.

How can I fix it with Vivaldi? I tried all the suggestions.

Could you describe what exactly is not working? (do you get an error message? do you see autofill suggestions? do you see them, but “fill” doesn’t do anything…?!)

Latest Bitwarden would be which version right now on your device?

BTW, you are using the BW mobile app? Or are you using the browser extension on Vivaldi?

Honestly, I don’t think there is anything Vivaldi-specific in there – and it did work for you until recently as you wrote – but anyway, you could have a look into this guide as well to check some basics and beyond: [Short Guide / Tips] Autofill on Android (and: maybe just toggle BW autofill on your device – can help also sometimes)

Yeah, I see the autofill suggestions and the fill just doesn’t do anything.

BW android, Version: 2025.11.0 (20967)

I tried all the suggestions that were posted around here and tinkering with all the settings. Nothing works.

All I know is that I’ve been using Vivaldi on Android for years and never had any issue with the autofill. Bitwarden updated and now the autofill doesn’t work.

If you or anyone uses Vivaldi or want to install it real quick to try and see if it works for you… for me it doesn’t work ever since Bitwarden updated. What they changed? Who knows…

In fact, I do use Vivaldi on my Android device (though I must admit, I only login to a very limited set of sites on mobile, overall).

I just tested to the login site of this forum. Though there also happens something new and unexpected for me: as I also have passkey for the forum in my BW vault, the credential manager pops up first when I tap the “Email / Username” field (without tapping on “Log in with a passkey”):

But when I close this with “x” and tap again in the “Email / Username” field, I then can fill in my username and password without a problem. (in my case via the keyboard inline menu).

Does it work for you the same on https://community.bitwarden.com/login – or is it different on your end?

PS: If you don’t have a passkey for the forum in your vault, you might not even see the credential manager popping up that way – but can you autofill or not?

Not working at all and in fact I just tested it on Chrome browser as well and it’s the same problem.

So this is not specific to Vivaldi. It’s just some problem with Bitwarden.

I get the autofill option in my inline keyboard. But trying to autofill does nothing.

I never had this problem with Bitwarden before, it only just started with the recent update.

It was working perfectly fine before.

Okay, but it can’t be a general problem, as I can autofill on Chrome without any issue at all (I just tested it – and my app is also on 2025.11.0).

For Chrome, it is important

  1. to enable the “autofill integration” (Settings → Autofill → Toggle “Use Chrome autofill integration”)

  2. and maybe still to set (enable) the following flag: #autofill-update-context-for-web-contents in chrome://flags (this is a proposed fix for an upstream issue)

If that doesn’t fix it for you with Chrome – and autofill still doesn’t work in any mobile browser for you --, I would tend to either check and toggle all settings again (maybe with the help of [Short Guide / Tips] Autofill on Android) or to to reset / reinstall the whole app and set up the app again from scratch (in case there was some “hiccup”)…

I tried all those suggestions before I posted here. I also tried setting that flag in Vivaldi. I also tried compatibility mode, nothing works. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is deleting bitwarden and reinstalling it. If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what else to do. It was working fine, now it’s not. That’s all I know. I’m on Android 12.

Same here, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Vivaldi, and no matter what I do select/reselect in Bitwarden, there is no autofill.

You’ll need to set Bitwarden/third-party as the autofill service/at the device level and Vivaldi browser level.

@Andre_K When you open Vivaldi → Settings → Autofill services, it should work again, when you choose “Autofill using another service” there (and allow Vivaldi to restart).

PS: Just for general info: this is a very recent change that came with Vivaldi 7.8 only a few days ago.
