I would like to directly add photos to my vault, instead of creating attachments. For example to hold non-standard cards and identity documents.
Similar to Store images for cards, identification and Add the ability to put pictures into notes in the vault.

Thanks. Indeed those are related. The first two are rather confusing discussions, but the third seems clear.
What this feature requests in addition is that I don’t want attachments – the image is the primary element.
