WTH? Created password but didn't offer to save new site

I was on the Wynn Hotel site, and decided to create an account to get a discount. When I got to the password slot, BW popped up to offer to generate a pw. Why not? I used it, and kept going.

Never once did it ask me to SAVE the new entry. What went wrong?

@astrohip Hi!

Well, in theory, there should also be an option to “Add a new login” following the generation process… - but I also had mixed results, testing that relatively new “inline menu generator” feature…

Here you can see a bit more to how it maybe should work: Create a strong password for a new login with one click | Bitwarden (PS: There are also instructions for this in the help sites: Use the inline autofill menu - choose the tab “Create account with inline autofill” there)

The good new is: your password is probably not lost. Go to the generator history of your extension (–> Generator → Generator history) (maybe you have to scroll down for that) - your password should be there.

Thanks @Nail1684 for the quick reply. I did find my password using the history, so I was able to recreate a new entry.

Thanks.

Similar situation when changing a password for an existing login. The extension (Safari, in this case) generates a new password and fills it but doesn’t offer to update the existing login with the new password.

Thanks for the information about generation history - I wasn’t aware of that.

@astrohip @MikeZ Addition: I just saw that the help sites also show some instructions for the inline generator - I added the link to my previous post, but before you have to search for it: : Use the inline autofill menu (choose the tab “Create account with inline autofill” there)
