I’ve been having an issue with Windows Hello unlock not actually unlocking Bitwarden after a successful auth. It’s happening in both the chrome browser extension and the Windows desktop application.
It’s not 100% failure rate, maybe 80-90%.
With the browser extension there’s a tell when it will work. When the Hello dialog opens inside/over the extension it will work. If it opens un parented, usually backgrounded, then it won’t.
Example of failure mode:
For the desktop there’s no such tell, it reliably opens the dialog in front.
In both cases when it works, it tends to work for a little while before failing again. For example whilst testing to write this, browser has failed 5-6x no success, desktop failed 2-3 times until I went into settings to be 100% it was enabled and now it’s working.
When it fails, it always successfully completed the windows hello auth process shows my name and OK to continue. But the vault stays locked.
