Where can I get an older version of the firefox plugin

I REALLy don’t like the new version of the Firefox plugin.
I have to click several times when I want to fill in an Identity.

Where can I get the Firefox plugin like it used to be?

It’s in the FF addon store.

Don’t forget to set it to not auto-update.

Thank you!
This is how I like Bitwarden. The whole button fills my name/password, AND I have my identities on the same window.

There is an announcement that the old functionality of cards and identities will come back per option:

Just as an info… as you can’t stay forever on the old version, getting no monthly security updates.

Also, if you want to give the new version a try every once in a while (to get used to it):

  1. Option to click the entry to autofill

  1. Adding the identities to “Favorite” now will display them in the Favorite section.

As much as I HATE the new UI, this is a mistake. Updates carry security updates as well. Don’t leave yourself vulnerable. I’d say find a new PW Manager before reverting to an older version.

This simple, beautiful UI is why I chose BW in the first place. I can’t BELIEVE they killed it.

Thank you. But it has cost me too much time already. First looking for a solution myself, then coming here, creating an account, posting my question, following up…

I’m now at an older version, and keeping an eye open for alternatives.

If you can pay, 1Password is highly regarded. If you prefer a free or open-source option, Proton Pass may be a suitable alternative. If you don’t need to access your secrets on mobile devices, KeePassXC is an excellent choice.

I have Bitwarden Premium. I might check those suggestions out when my subscription expires.
Unless Bitwarden gives me the possibility to use the old interface again.

Thanks for that tip @Neuron5569. I’m really disgusted with the mess that the new UI has become. Takes more clicks and makes it difficult to use. But I have a couple of questions:

  1. What is the last version of the old UI?
  2. Do I need to d/l both the exe and browser plugins separately?
  3. Where can I get the old UI version for Chrome?

Hi Terry,

The latest old browser was v2024.11.2

The .exe’s UI hasn’t been refreshed. For biometrics, it typically would work with an older extension version. If it doesn’t, try this one:

“Reverting” on Chrome requires side-loading the extension (from the link above) as a “developer.” The link above has Chrome distribution zip file, which you would need to unpack. I use FF, so I haven’t done it, but the instructions to use an unpacked extension are here.

You probably don’t want to be running old versions forever because of security updates, so I hope you check new versions every once in a while.

Thanks for the info about the old version. It is so much more user friendly than this new abomination. I don’t know how long it’s going to work with the updated server tho, so I’m looking at switching to Proton Pass.

When I loaded the extension into Chrome it appears to be working ok. But I show an error message for it:

KeePassDX is the perfect mobile phone compliment to KeePassXC on the desktop.

Haha, I am still too nervous about having too many hands in the pie.

Different questions. What do you use to sync, and where do you sync it to?

Change is part of everything. It’s as old as time.

It’s not about change. It’s about change-for-the-sake-of-change. Change that is not for the better.

When you started using Bitwarden was there a learning curve?

Not for me, no not at all. I found Bitwarden very intuitive. Granted, that was prior to the current version.
