I’ve been using Webauthn as a 2nd factor successfully for the past couple of years. I routinely swap between laptops and every month or so I might have to pull out my key again and it has always worked. Recently, with Firefox 135, I haven’t been able to login even though Webauthn is successful at authenticating my key and tells me I can close this tab. Wether or not I close it, when I go for the addon again, it won’t be logged in and still waiting 2nd factor. Anyone else experience this with the latest addon?
Hello and welcome to the community,
I use FF ESR, not the 135, but here is a suggestion you can try.
Go to the page where you want to log in, or open an empty tab. Press the Ctrl + Shift + L keys (the autofill shortcut). Firefox will prompt you for authentication in a pop-up window (not attached to the current window). After you authenticate, it will close the window automatically.
See if this by chance works.
Thanks for the tip. It was logged out to the point it didn’t hint at autofill. I eventually removed the addon, restart FF and reinstalled the addon, now it works
Peace
