I have used a Windows 11 desktop Bitwarden configuration (actually several) which I have successfully used for several years. Recently, I have noted a repeated version update failure. Following is a brief summary description -
Windows 11 desktop with current updates
Current Bitwarden version 2025.12.1
Failed Bitwarden update version 2026.1.0
After selecting “Restart” at the authorization prompt, I get a failure dialog with the message “Failed to uninstall the old application files. Please try running the installer again.” Repeating the attempt generates the same response and the sane behavior results on all of my Windows 11 installations.
