Hello everyone,
Been using Bitwarden for a while and loving it! But there are some things in the Vault UI that always bother me.

Issues

  1. The My Vault title is to the right of the filter. I keep thinking it’s the title of the filtered list, and not the title of the page.
  2. The selected item in the filter is not too clear. The bold/blue by itself is not too strong.
  3. Alignments of icons and text in the filter are not unified. And the list could use a little more linespacing.
  4. Folders could use a better icon. The triangle icon suggests a multilevel list.

Solutions

I’ve created a quick mockup of minor changes that could be implemented. I’m not a programmer, but I suppose these changes wouldn’t take much time to do.

  1. Put My Vault title above all content.
  2. Add another highlight element (background) to the selected item.
  3. Increase spacing between icons & text and filter elements.
  4. Use a folder icon (similar to folders in Google Drive).
    4a) As extra visual flair, could add a color attribute to each folder, and call out the folder name within the list. This would improve findability if you have several logins for similar websites.

I don’t disagree that the UI could use a lot of love, but I figured I’d point out https://bitwarden.com/help/article/folders/ – the triangle suggests a multilevel list because it can be a multilevel list. :slight_smile:
