Vault item and Members Counts

Feature name

  • Item Counts

Feature function

  • What will this feature do differently?
    • Show the count of items in each vault (personal/organization), type (login, card, etc), folder, and collection. Also when viewing the Manage tab in an organization, show the count of items in each collection, and count of members in each group
  • What benefits will this feature bring?
    • Vault item counts will make it easier for users to see how many items are in various areas of their vault.
    • With folders, this can help identify where a folder might benefit from being broken into multiple smaller folders, if multiple small folders are appropriate to combine into a single folder.
    • Collections can be looked at the same way (depending on sharing needs).
    • Organization > Manage > Collections and Organization > Manage > Groups would benefit by having this information as well. The members list has counts at the top.

I imported my data from 1Password about 2 weeks ago. Now that I have more time to finalize my move to BitWarden, how can I tell if everything was imported or not?

Regardless of my case, this new feature isn’t something that takes countless hours to add. @BitWarden this is basic important info to have for end users, at least in native apps MacOS/Windows. Please consider adding this soon.

[edit] I’ve got 739 items in 1P … I just can’t manually do the count as I can’t count above 4 :smiley:

@bitward3n Welcome to the forum!

During the import process, when you have clicked Import Data, you should get a success message (which will say something to the effect that “A total of 739 items were imported”).

Disclaimer: This is the case if importing a file into the Web Vault, using the “Bitwarden (csv)” format. I have not tested it with other file formats, nor using the apps/extensions to import, but I imagine it would work the same way.

This goes for the view in the Windows app too!
