Using biometrics with Bitwarden on macOS with a business and personal account

I’m new to Bitwarden (want to migrate from 1Password), and I have a Bitwarden business and family accounts I want to enable biometrics for both of them on macOS 26.3. From what I’m reading the desktop app must be enabled for biometrics for the extensions to enable biometrics.

I can get this to work, but only for the active account in the desktop app, so biometrics are available only half the time. What’s more, when quitting and reopening the desktop app, it only opens one account, and forgets about the other. I have to add the 2nd account every time I open the desktop app.

What am I missing?

Hi there, are you checking the boxes to remember the account when adding the additional accounts? Do you have the app to start automatically?

I currently have a couple different accounts logged in and using biometrics.

The biometrics settings are also stored per account, so they need to be enabled individually.

And adding to the previous post: in the desktop app, did you choose “Log out” as timeout action for those accounts? (if yes, change that to “Lock”)
