'Unlock with system authentication' not working

Hi,

I am using Bitwarden (paid) both on my Linux (Arch + KDE) workstation at home as well as on my work laptop I recently migrated from Windows to Linux. But for some reason the ‘Unlock with system authentication’ does not work on the company laptop.

I remember seeing a root prompt executing a bash command when activating the same option on my home workstation (where the feature works), but for some reason this prompt never appeared on my work laptop. I’ve tried deactivating the option again on my home computer, but there the root prompt does not show up anymore as well.

Is someone tell me what should get executed when I enable this option? This might help me figure out what I am missing on my system.

So no one knows something about that?

I think you are running into the limitations of Windows. Windows wants to force everything through Hello, at least that’s how I perceive it based on numerous comments here. Are you using Windows Hello to authenticate on your work PC?

It’s Linux on both systems.

Ah sorry I missed that.

@reoccur1 My best advice would be, to have a look into relating (and relatively recent) GitHub issues and their comments - e.g.:
