Hello, same problem. I use the Edge/Chrome extension, i can’t delete vault-items, the red trash cane at the right bottom doesn’t appear.

Version: 2025.6.0
SDK: ‘main (1fa0f7a)’

Firefox addin is fine, also login to normal web personal vault is fine.
I use self hosted.

Hello Nail1684,

i’m the only user, and there’s only one personal vault. I don’t use any organization or collection.
No other user exist.

In my case i realize now that my self hosted solution isn’t orginal Bitwarden, i use another opensource backend with the latest version.

I think it’s a bug in the MS Edge/Chrome addin, before the new Release about the 26./27. June i can delete without problems.

It can also be a compatibility issue between the third-party server and the newest app version. – Here my standard text now… (and assuming, you are using Vaultwarden):

It seems, you are using an unofficial server software, which is not supported by Bitwarden, as it is an independent product. From time to time, there will be compatibility issues between the official Bitwarden client apps (browser extension, mobile app, desktop app…) and an unofficial server product, when Bitwarden implements changes to its own server software and/or client apps. “…Bitwarden cannot guarantee that official clients will work perfectly with non-official servers.”

(Also due to this - and for other reasons - we recommend using the official Bitwarden server software.)

It is generally not possible for members of the Bitwarden community (users or developers) to help with such issues - and with issues of the unofficial server itself. Please seek support in their community spaces.

If you can replicate your issue on an official Bitwarden server, feel free to open a new thread here.

I cannot reproduce this issue in Chrome/Edge extension version 20205.6.0.

What happens if you hover your mouse cursor over the lower right corner of the View Item screen? Do the blue button border and tooltip appear? Does the pointer icon change from an arrow :up_left_arrow: to a :backhand_index_pointing_up: pointing finger? Does anything happen if you click in that area of the UI?

If you enter the Edit Item view, do you see the trashcan icon there?

I can’t see the red trash can in either view mode or edit mode. The blue button and tooltip appear, if i hover around the bottom corner or click anywhere where the red trash can would appear nothing happens. Perhaps it is a compatibility issue with the other product.

@_Daniel One thing you could try also (as sometimes the apps can get some kind of a “hiccup”):

  1. If logged in in the browser extension: try to log out. (be sure you can log in again! → master password and 2FA)
  2. Deinstall the extension.
  3. Make sure, the local storage of the extension is deleted.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Re-install the browser extension. (BTW, always via the official download channels)
  6. Try to log in to the browser extension again.

→ if the “delete” symbol then still is missing, it verly likely is due to the third-party server / incompatibility

I try it and reinstall it again, nothing changes.
iOS App is fine, Firefox addon is fine which is version 2025.5.0
I open a discussion at the other side (vaultwarden backend)
