Hello,
I am totally new to bitwarden. I tried the Android App and got an account there. Then I saw there is also Bitwarden.eu and wanted to sign-up there but account wasn’t known. Only bitwarden.com knew the Account created on the android app. Before I move all my passwords to Bitwarden. How may I (as free user) get or configure an Android app to have EU-Hosting please. May someone be so friendly to guide me in this topic please ?
Kind regards
apollo
@apollo567 Welcome to the forum!
There are two distinct server regions for a Bitwarden account (and you can only “login” to the server region your account is created on):
- US server region = vault.bitwarden.com
- EU server region = vault.bitwarden.eu
So, if you want to be in the “EU-Hosting”, you have to create a new account on the EU region server. (and probably delete your empty account on the US server)
And I may add, there is only “a Bitwarden account” - and you can access that same account from every Bitwarden app (mobile app, browser extension, desktop app, web vault…)
Also some tips for the beginning:
- create a “strong” master password - an at least 4-random-words passphrase is the recommended tip
- set up 2FA for your account (BTW, that is an action, you can only do via the web vault / web app)
- create an emergency sheet with at least your used email address, master password, 2FA recovery code, and the login data for your used email address on it
- think of regular backups/exports of your Bitwarden account/vault “just in case”
