A simple button in the login info setting page/folder setting page that you can click on to make it so that those login info will be omitted from the login selection unless the browser is in private mode. This would help keep private login info and general ones seperate. And it also would help keep the box with different login info clean when login in.
Something like this would be great.
[] Only show in Private mode?
Specific folder setting could be the most useful, but individual info settings could have its uses as well. The opposite could also have some uses, with login info not showing up in private mode.
Edit: Also sorry if this has been posted before, I tried to search for similar one and didn’t find it, but I haven’t used this kind of a forum before.
I would also love this feature. I don’t want my private email address popping up as a login option for sites on devices that I share with family members. This reveals that my username on that private account (even if it requires my master password to actually log in). It is also just clutter since I rarely use that private account, and when I do, I would prefer to find it in the plugin dropdown.
My work-around is to remove the URL field from the login items for private accounts.
This could also be nice when showing the full list of items in the All Items page shown when Bitwarden first boots up on Windows or Mac OSX. I don’t want private items showing up at the top of this list whenever my computer reboots.
My work-around is to rename these private accounts with a prefix that sorts them to the bottom.
Essentially, I want a way to have a hidden folder that I have to click to see the items inside (optionally requiring me to enter the master password again), where the items do not automatically pop-up in input boxes. Secondarily, it might be nice to have a toggle button that allows Bitwarden to suggest them when the in an incognito window, but that is not as important or valuable.
A better variation of this work-around would be to keep the URL, but set its match detection method to “Never”. That will allow you still use the “Launch” icon, followed by forced “Autofill” (under the kebab menu).
Note: I updated the title a bit – I replaced “… for autofill in private mode” with “… for autofill in private browser windows” to make that point more clear.
@jeffmay87 I read your two posts, and either I don’t understand them completely or I think your usecase indeed doesn’t match the “private browser window” scenario, but more the “hidden items/folders” scenario…
