I have a newb question. I’m learning Bitwarden and considering it for my team. My understanding is, i give access to users to specific individual passwords through their master password. This way they can never see the individual passwords. But if they go to a site to login, use Bitwarden to fill the password, but then save it in Google password manager, can’t they then just go into Google Password manager and see the individual passwords?
No, you’re not missing anything. You should only share credentials with people you trust. Once they have the ability to transfer a password from Bitwarden into an online login form, you have no way of preventing them from using any of a number of available techniques for seeing the password (including the method that you described).
@grb is correct, but one addtional step you may want to consider (if you manage the user’s devices) is disabling the built in password managers of the browsers you allow them to access. There are some steps to do this via GPO while pushing out the Bitwarden browser extension detailed here.
I hope this helps, but do let us know if you have any additional questions.
