I have to scratch my head reading the “Security considerations” section. I don’t think any adherent of the often propagated (on Reddit and probably here) creed “don’t log into Bitwarden on a device that isn’t yours and that you don’t have exclusive control” would be a fan. On a public computer with malware or malicious software, the advice given in the blog is probably inadequate.
If this is still considered adequate, I would suggest adding:
Log out from the accounts after use.
Avoid any transactions, including banking, shopping, etc.
Bitwarden used to have a great option for travelling — the Portable Desktop app!
This could be installed on a USB, easily carried to anywhere in the world, and then accessed on any computer, without installing any software or browser extension (and potentially leaving traces of user data behind); the Portable Desktop app could even be used while completely disconnected from the internet. Of course, one would still not be perfectly safe if the computer used is compromised, but at least by using the app off-line, it would prevent immediate exfiltration of vault data, and theft of Bitwarden session cookies.
Unfortunately, since 2024, Bitwarden’s “portable” desktop app is no longer portable…
