I have a families subscription. I would like to synchronise two families members, who access Bitwarden on separate devices. At the moment changes to one vault are not reflected on the other. Also how please advise how Families subscribers can obtain priority support.
Hello,
- Usually, you share passwords between two members in a family (or organization) via collections that are in the family’s vault. So, basically, you (as an org admin) create a collection in the org, setting up appropriate accesses for the family members, and then move passwords to be shared into the collection. See the details here:
- You contact the support the same way, probably safest using the email used to create a family subscription, also telling them that you have a subscription.
@nottheusualtoday Welcome to the forum!
In a Family Plan, each member has a Premium account that comes with an individual vault (labeled “My Vault”), and the plan administrator/owner additionally has an “organization” vault (to be used for sharing of items among family members).
No family member will ever be able to see the contents of another family member’s individual vault, so if the changes that were made involved items stored in an individual vault, then it is perfectly normal for other family members not to see any of those changes.
To share vault items that other family members can see, then the administrator/owner of the family “organization” must first create something called a “collection” — which has to be done from the Admin Console of Bitwarden’s Web Vault. The administrator also has to assign permissions to allow other family members to view and/or edit the contents of the collection. After this initial configuration has been done, vault items can be moved into the organization vault and assigned to a collection.
All family members who have permissions to view the collection contents should almost immediately see any changes that were made to items in that collection.
