Support for HarmonyOS Devices

Recently, I heard that Huawei released HarmonyOS Next (i.e. HarmonyOS without Android kernel), would you consider porting to HarmonyOS? Will there be a third party version in the future? (If you don’t think about it)

I would say it’s a good one.

Not sure how the password is synced behind the scene, I can’t say I have full confident that this wouldn’t add risk of breaching

This is HarmonyOS Official Website: https://www.harmonyos.com

I think Official need learn ArkTS Language.

I’m sorry, my native language is not English, and many pages have reading difficulties.I’m very sorry if it has caused any inconvenience to everyone.
I am a dedicated user of Bitwarden, and I truly appreciate the excellent service it provides in password management. In today’s diverse technological landscape, the demand for cross - platform compatibility is crucial. Currently, I am using a device running on the HarmonyOS system. However, to my disappointment, Bitwarden does not have a dedicated version for HarmonyOS yet.

HarmonyOS has been growing rapidly in recent years, with an increasing number of users worldwide. By developing a Bitwarden application for HarmonyOS, you will be able to tap into this expanding market and provide password management services to a whole new group of users. This not only enriches the user experience for HarmonyOS users but also helps Bitwarden to further enhance its market share and influence in the global password management field.

I sincerely hope that the Bitwarden development team can consider the development of a HarmonyOS version. I believe that with your technical strength and innovation ability, this will be a win - win move for both Bitwarden and HarmonyOS users.

Thank you very much for your attention and hard work!

@asd23dw Welcome to the forum!

I moved your post into this existing Feature Request to the same topic.

OpenHarmony(OHOS) is a brand new open source operating system project and it can be used on phone, PC, tablets, TV, watch and even IoT devices such as router and intelligent home furniture. The highlight of this system is developing once and deploying on everything. It is a promising operating system and will also benefit open source community. OHOS gives developers and users a new choice beside iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS and linux.

HarmonyOS Next is a new operating system based on an open source project OpenHarmony(OHOS). And it now has about 9 million users. As this system continue to develop, the number of the users is at least 50 million. This system is currently used on Huawei devices.

OpenHarmony needs more extraordinary open source projects like Bitwarden. The servo project(Which formerly be project of Mozilla and now maintained by Linux Foundation EU) has started developing OHOS version and will become default webview implement. There isn’t any password/authenticator that as perfect as Bitwarden and also open source.

We hope Bitwarden can develop an OHOS version.

@SteamFinder There is another feature request about “HarmonyOS”:

Are your request and the other request similar or even “the same” in the end? Could both requests be merged? (I don’t know enough about HarmonyOS, including it’s variations, to assess this myself)

Yes, his topic is the same as mine.

HarmonyOS is a brand new OS that based on the OpenHarmony Project. Just as the relation between OneUI/HyperOS(MIUI) and AOSP.

@SteamFinder Thanks for your response! As you can see, I now merged your request with this one.

(and sidenote for all: I now deleted my second post that asked for clarification in this feature request, as that post is no longer necessary)
